Terms of Use for Email Services
1. Scope of Terms
These terms of use supplement Nida Verkkopalvelu's general terms and conditions for the services where the customer uses Nida Verkkopalvelu's email services to send or receive emails.
2. Definition of Email Services
Email services refer to any service provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu that enables the use of email. This includes services used directly for sending or receiving emails.
The email service provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu can be a standalone service or part of the customer's broader service package.
These terms also apply in cases where the customer uses virtual server or Internet connectivity services provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu for email purposes, even if the service is not directly an email service provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu.
3. Acceptable Use of Email Services
Email services must be used in accordance with Finnish law and good Internet practices. For example, falsifying sender information or distributing malware and phishing emails is prohibited.
4. Electronic Direct Marketing and Mass Mailing
Email services may be used for sending electronic direct marketing if the following conditions are met:
- The address list used for sending emails is managed by the customer and consists only of addresses directly provided to the customer
- The customer has a valid privacy policy for the address list
- The address list has been maintained in accordance with good practice and legal requirements
- The customer's message complies with legal requirements, for example regarding identification and disclosure of the sender
- The customer provides an easy way to unsubscribe from the address list in every message
Using address lists maintained by third parties for direct marketing without Nida Verkkopalvelu's written permission is prohibited. Any illegal direct marketing or mass mailing is prohibited. Such use may lead to immediate termination of the service agreement without refund.
If the customer's direct marketing causes issues with the service operation, Nida Verkkopalvelu has the right to prohibit that customer from further direct marketing usage.
5. Spam and Malware Prevention
Nida Verkkopalvelu's systems automatically filter messages originating from known spam sources or messages that appear harmful.
In some services, the customer may have the option to activate a separate spam filter that analyzes message content more closely.
Nida Verkkopalvelu is not responsible for the consequences of automatic filtering.
6. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for all email traffic sent or received through their user accounts and passwords.
If the customer provides email addresses to their staff or other parties, personal addresses are considered private, and neither the customer nor their representatives may read messages without the user's consent.
7. Restriction of Email Service Usage
If the use of the services causes problems with accessibility, continuity, functionality, or reliability, Nida Verkkopalvelu has the right to block or limit the customer's use of the email service.
8. Exchange and Refund Rights
For email service subscriptions, the customer has a full 14-day right to refund or exchange.
