Terms of Use for Web Hosting Services
1. Scope of the Terms
These terms supplement Nida Verkkopalvelu's general terms and conditions for customers who use Nida Verkkopalvelu's web hosting services.
2. Definition of Web Hosting Services
A web hosting server refers to a logical unit reserved for the customer's use on Nida Verkkopalvelu's servers, where the customer can run their own software.
Web hosting services refer to services provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu to its customers.
Maintenance services refer to services provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu where Nida Verkkopalvelu assumes partial or full responsibility for the operation of the customer's web hosting servers and/or the software running on them.
3. Acceptable Use of Web Hosting Servers
Web hosting services provided by Nida Verkkopalvelu must be used for purposes compliant with Finnish law.
Illegal use is strictly prohibited and may lead to immediate termination of the service agreement at Nida Verkkopalvelu's discretion without refund of any fees already paid.
Providing shell services on web hosting servers is not allowed.
4. Customer Responsibility for Web Hosting Security
The customer is responsible for the security of their web hosting servers.
If the server is compromised or used, for example, for cyber-attacks, Nida Verkkopalvelu has the right to temporarily suspend service. The customer will be notified of the issue promptly.
In case of recurring issues or security breaches, Nida Verkkopalvelu has the right to terminate the service agreement immediately after consulting the customer where possible.
In such cases, the customer has the right to access the data stored on the web hosting server for 30 days without additional charges.
5. Providing Email Services Using Web Hosting Servers
If the customer provides or uses email services utilizing Nida Verkkopalvelu's web hosting servers, the customer agrees to comply with additional terms applicable to email services.
6. Limitation of Liability in Web Hosting Services
Nida Verkkopalvelu strives to provide reliable web hosting services and minimize service interruptions.
Customer data is stored in properly secured systems equipped with RAID disk backup.
Nida Verkkopalvelu does not regularly back up the customer's web hosting servers unless the customer has separately ordered backup services.
If data is lost due to software errors or hardware failures, Nida Verkkopalvelu's liability is limited to an amount equivalent to two (2) months of the customer's fixed web hosting service fees.
7. Exchange and Refund Rights
For web hosting service orders, the customer has a 14-day full exchange and refund right.
